Carbon Crisis

Our climate is rapidly changing because of our disregard for the environment. What kind of eco-system are we willing to leave behind for our grandchildren? How can we possibly repair the damage already sustained to our environment? How can we save the earth? We can tell our-selves that global warming isn’t real, and that is doesn’t affect us now. But the reality is, that our climate is changing. For the worst. We can shrink our carbon footprint, by switching off our unused appliances, change to an energy efficient light bulb, invest in solar panels and turn off the car and walk to the corner shop. These simple actions can help fight global warming.
Because we are now adjusted to our material lifestyle, with our iPods and our flashy designer clothes, people find it hard to go out of their way to help Mother Nature. People need to learn to recycle paper; we are logging trees at a rate that is too steep, and in the process over looking endangered animals like orang-utans and red panda’s. We need to ratify our thinking, too explore different means of transport. We need to think outside the square to help combat global warming, we need to investigate ethanol fuel, and help make hybrid cars more affordable and cost efficient. Our serious let down, is industrial pollution. Our industries pump out toxic chemicals into our atmosphere on a daily basis, we breathe the same air. We need to think towards the future, think about what we’re leaving behind for your grandchildren, think about what morals we display now for our grandchildren to view later, think about the earth. Our water supply can become scarce and with petrol already at $1.65 oil is on its way to be extinct. Our global population needs to think about the way we treat the earth. It’s not just our thinking, it’s our attitude. We may think that it’s not affecting us now, why bother? Well, you are right, we are only starting to see the affects of excessive co2 emissions. But spare a thought for your children’s children, when they’re growing up without the Great Barrier Reef, without orang-utans and without clean air to breathe. Imagine not being able to walk outside without a mask on, or only remembering the Great Barrier Reef. As a society, we are far too energy dependant. We are far too energy dependant. We depend on our car to go to the corner shop, or to your friends house a block away. Simple steps like switching off the car engine can dramatically reduce our co2 emissions. Together, we can fight global warming.
